    What: COAP Volleyball Pre-Season Kick Off Event
    Description: Let's celebrate our third season! Folks from last year and those who are new to the group are welcome to help us kick off summer 2008. We'll play volleyball for an hour or so. Then we'll head out to a select location to play some billiards, foosball, and ping-pong. Food will be provided. Bring sun screen and lots of water! Don't forget to invite your friends too!

    Description: Financial Planning seminar from Gregg John, New York Life Insurance Company. For purposes of planning refreshments and space, please RSVP to gajohn@ft.newyorklife.com at least 1 week prior to the event. If the number of RSVP's exceeds the available space then the seminar will be moved to an appropriate sized venue. If this occurs, a notice will be sent to the list regarding the change.     What: BLOWOFF featuring Bob Mould and Richard Morel
    Description: Bob Mould is the punk-pop pioneer behind Husker Du & Sugar, and has worked more recently on electro/dance projects like Loudbomb. Richard Morel is a writer/producer/remixer who has worked with everyone from the Pet Shop Boys to Cyndi Lauper and who has charted with club mixes of the Killers, Madonna, the Stones, and countless others.
    The two began collaborating in the studio musically, but also began a DJ collaboration; Blowoff soon became one of DC's hottest gay nights, and they have taken it to NYC as well. It's been a few years since we've had the privilege of hosting Blowoff here at R2, but they will be back to bring their mix of house, rock, electro, including original mixes. $8. www.blowoff.us

    Description: Oh the things we will do.... Camp ( where does this tent pole go), listen to beautiful women sing wonderful music, swim ( suit...what suit), eat some delicious pie, sing, dance ( watch out Pam for the painted ladies), laugh, eat some delicious lasagna, go to the bon fire ( wonder what Bon Fire means...) toast marshmallows ( try not to get it in Georgia's hair), streak ( well maybe), do Tkaye's art event (hmmm), hike the beautiful land, keep away from the fire water (if you don't know you did not go last year) make a s'more ( remember to put the leftovers in plastic baggie so they do not get soggy in the cooler), visit the cabin peeps, canoe ( fall out and swim if your Katherine or Georgia), paddle boat ( fall out and swim if your Katherine or Georgia), eat some delicious pie, play paint ball (ease off the trigger Laura), compete in the hammock contest ( ...but it's my turn now...), go to the DJ party, sleep late (Whippoorwill plugs please), attend unique workshops, eat some of that pie ..did I mention that, join the sky watching circle of NC Family peeps that know..."Hey that thing can FLY", attend an evening hours chat under the stars with the amazing Enigmatic Laura and her song styling's from the Bleep!, Eat more of...well you know, shower...with friends..well...maybe, get a massage in the breezy afternoon, play the Billie Hall field games, lay out in the sun with friends, meet hundreds of new faces, be yourself and oh...the pie is good too.....

    What: Tee Time with Barb’s Bosom Buddies
    Description: Sponsored by the Women Who Care Golf League. Join us on a lovely summer afternoon for a fun-filled round of golf to raise money for one of our league members who has been diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC), a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
    Format: 4-person teams will play Captain’s Choice. For more information / registration, contact Teddy - teddyhamilton@comcast.net. $80 per person for 18 holes with cart.
    IBC is an advanced and accelerated form of breast cancer that is usually not detected by mammograms or ultrasounds. IBC requires immediate aggressive treatment with chemotherapy prior to surgery and is treated differently than more common types of breast cancer. IBC accounts for 1 to 5 percent of all breast cancer cases in the United States.

    What: Charlottesville Women's Choir's 23rd Annual Spring Concert to Benefit PACEM's Women's program
    Description: Come enjoy an evening of socially conscious, multicultural, mainly a cappella music to benefit PACEM's programs for homeless women. The women's choir is a group of 29 women who hope to help change the world through song. Our music ranges from classical to contemporary and from serious to downright silly. Some are old familiars with new twists. Tickets are available at the door or from choir members. Adults: sliding scale $5-15, Children 5-12 years old $4, Under 5 Free.
